Alternative Keyboard: The Cherry ErgoPlus Keyboard |
![]() |
Since Lexmark stopped making the "SelectEase" Keyboard, we have been searching for an alternative with similar form and function. Although the ErgoPlus is not as tenable as the SelectEase and does not feature the dual-use left space bar, the ErgoPlus keyboard more than holds its own in a direct comparison. The ErgoPlus keys have a quieter and lighter touch when compared to the Lexmark. It also features a separate numeric keypad that can be placed to the left or right of the split keyboard. The base of the ErgoPlus offers a variety of "feet" which are used to position the keyboard angles to suit the personal needs and comfort levels of the user. The ErgoPlus also includes five extra function keys and its layout is almost identical to the original IBM keyboard. The ErgoPlus is available in several international versions and exceeds the latest "Green" environmental manufacturing standards for packaging and recyclability. Available in IBM/PS/2 and Windows 95 versions. Also compatible with Sun and Macintosh system with Sun and Macintosh keyboard interface. From $219.96. Numeric Keypad from $50.00 depending on options. Sun and Macintosh Keyboard interface, $125.00 each. This product received an excellent three and a half diamond rating, BUT IT IS NO LONGER MANUFACTURED. The ErgoPlus features a good warranty, is comfortable and is easy to integrate into the environment. Its adjustability is superior to all but three of the four best keyboards manufactured today. A tremendous value! |
